Together, we are going to Sparkle like never before!
It won't quite be the usual Markovitz Sparkle Night Walk that we normally experience together, but it will still have that special Sparkle feel! In fact, we're going to need you more than ever. COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our fundraising plans this year, so we need North Derbyshire to come together to support Ashgate Hospicecare by sparkling virtually for the Markovitz Virtual Sparkle Night 2020!
Five steps to virtually sparkle
1. Register for Markovitz Virtual Sparkle Night 2020
By registering the event, you’ll secure your T-shirt, bunny ears and fundraising pack.
2. Plan your activity
You can walk, run, cycle or dance (or anything else!), just make it a socially-distanced challenge for you.
3. Create your fundraising page
Set up your JustGiving fundraising page by clicking here. You can then share the link with your friends and family and ask them to support you with your virtual challenge.
4. Join the live event
Join us on the Sparkle Facebook page on Saturday 19th September 2020 for live entertainment before you start your challenge at 8pm. The party starts at 7pm so don't be late!
5. Take a selfie with your medal
Share your Sparkle medal selfies at 10pm and don’t forget to use the hashtag #TogetherWeSparkle to show you were a part of North Derbyshire’s biggest virtual fundraising event of the year!
So what is Markovitz Virtual Sparkle Night 2020?
A virtual event that can either take from the comfort of your own home or out in your local area. Plan what your activity will be – we want you to walk, run, cycle or dance for us (but if you've got your own ideas, that's fine!) Get your friends, family and your dogs involved too. Virtually sparkling this year means that everybody can take part, including your pets!
We will still be all coming together as a community on Saturday 19th September 2020, but we’ll just be spreading the Sparkle cheer further afield. Join us on the night knowing that you’re a part of North Derbyshire’s biggest fundraising event of the year.

How will I get my Sparkle T-shirt, medal and bunny ears?
Don't worry, we know that these are an essential part of Sparkle. We'll confirm details of how you'll receive your fundraising pack soon.
What will my £10 registration fee go towards?
Even though we aren't putting on a physical event, you will still be receiving your t-shirt, bunny ears, sponsor forms, a fundraising pack and your medal. Your £10 will go towards covering the event costs incurred but it’s your sponsorship that will really make a difference to patients and their families across North Derbyshire.
How will you bring the Sparkle atmosphere to life?
We have some special surprises in store for the big night that we’re sure will help recreate that unforgettable Sparkle atmosphere from home – and with younger children and pets being able to get involved this year for the first time, we'll do everything we can to make the evening as memorable as possible for the whole family.
Why we need you to virtually Sparkle for us this year
We are determined to not let current restrictions dampen the Sparkle spirit! Every single year we are amazed at the support shown by our local community - our passionate participants, spectacular sponsors and valuable volunteers. Each and every single one of you contribute to bringing the event to life, and this year will be no different.
The past few months have been hugely challenging because coronavirus has forced us all to sacrifice so much. At Ashgate Hospicecare, we have had to transform the way we provide our care, in the most difficult of circumstances, to reach more people than ever before. We have also expanded our end of life and bereavement support into the wider community, including care homes. And that’s why we need your support now more than ever.
